Dr. Alan Riley,
Director of Curriculum
The
Learning Ladder, Woodlands
A doctoral graduate at the University of
Toronto, Canada, has had a wide range of experiences that bridges
Kindergarten to the University level of teaching. Dr. Riley has been a
Classroom Teacher, Principal and a Special Education
Consultant and Psychologist for private and educational institutes. A
leader in educational change, he was instrumental in providing the
stewardship for reviewing and the renewal of the Early Childhood Education
program at Fanshawe Community College in Canada. As Assistant Professor at
the University
of Western Ontario, he supervised and taught graduate students in their
educational teaching program; as well as doing research and writing on
childhood development and parent education. Prior to coming to Singapore
he did volunteer work in Kenya
in the area of children’s health and education.
Ms. Alice Tan, Supervisor
The Learning
Ladder, Woodlands
Supervisor,
Ms. Alice Tan has been working at The Learning Ladder, Bukit Timah branch
since the centre opened in January 2000. Ms. Tan has 15 years of experience
teaching young children from age three to six in both local kindergarten and
International setting. Alice
has been appointed as a Supervisor and Head of Department while working in
Singapore, China and Japan. She obtained her Diploma In Teaching Pre-School Education from Beijing Normal
University. Currently Ms. Tan is pursuing a Diploma In Leadership Course at
Wheelock College in her spare time.
