ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Please note that under these terms and conditions “ The Learning Ladder” applies to the following operations:

  1. All fees must be paid by the stipulated due date stated on the billing invoices for each term, or before the commencement of each calendar month.
  2. All P parents and /students must accept and be bound by the policies as outlined in the Parent Handbook that governsing The Learning Ladder which is and under the authority of the Programme Coordinator /Supervisor.
  3. The Learning Ladder is viewed as an extension of the home and as such, students will be subjected to discipline that is considered necessary based on the school’s philosophy as outlined in the Parent Handbook.
  4. All information provided must be accurate and complete. The school may at its discretion, suspend or terminate enrolment for failure to comply with these conditions and for other serious breaches of the school’s rules and regulations.
  5. All required documents must be furnished before the proposed date of commencement of school. Students with incomplete documents must furnish them within 30 days after the commencement of school. In such instance, the student will be placed on conditional admission.
  6. Your child may be included in photographs taken by the School or affiliated schools for marketing or education purposes.  If you do not wish to give permission for your child to be included in photographs, kindly notify the office in writing.

APPLICATION FEE

An application fee is payable when an application is submitted to enrol at to The Learning Ladder. This fee is non-refundable should the application be withdrawn by the applicant.

TUITION FEE

All fees must be paid by the stipulated date on the invoice before the commencement date of school. Tuition fees are billed before the start of each term and are non-refundable once the month has commenced.

The Centre reserves the right to suspend or withdraw students, and to withhold the release of reports, transcripts, recommendations and other documents, if the tuition fees are in arrears.


DEPOSIT

A tuition deposit amounting to one month’s tuition fee will be applied to all new students, and is payable before the commencement of classes.

In cases where children in the same family are registered in different programmes, the tuition deposit based on the higher tuition fee applies. Only one deposit is payable. The deposit may be applied against unpaid tuition fees, damage to property caused by the student and other unpaid school accounts.

The deposit will be refunded in full if a written notice for withdrawal is received no later than one (1) month before the last day of attendance. The Centre will forfeit 100% of the deposit if the student is withdrawn on a shorter notice. Please refer to school calendar and newsletters for deadlines on submission of withdrawal notices in order to have a full deposit refund.

The deposit varies according to the programme the student attends. Additional deposit may be necessary depending on changes in the student’s grade levels (for example graduating from Nursery to Kindergarten 1 level), or type of programme enrolled in (for example student switching from half day to full day).


CHANGE OF PROGRAMME/WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS

New Students:

Tuition fees and deposit will be refunded in full provided that the application to enrol at The Learning Ladder is withdrawn with a written notice received not less than one month before the proposed date of commencement at the Centre. The Centre will forfeit 100% of the deposit if a child is withdrawn on a shorter notice.

Returning Students:

For change of programme/withdrawals during the period of enrolment, a letter of change of programme/ withdrawals must be received no less than one month before the last day of student’s school attendance. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of 100% of the deposit. In cases of withdrawal, tuition fees payable for the month of withdrawal will not be refunded.

Parents receiving subsidy from MCYS must give notice of withdrawal by the first day of the month before withdrawal.

Trial Period

A trial period of the initial two weeks of enrolment can be provided for students who request it. Please inform the Admissions Officer of a trial period arrangement if necessary. A full month’s tuition fee would still be payable. If attendance for the month is not completed after the trial period, the unused portion of the remaining fees will be refunded on a pro-rata basis. Tuition deposits are payable once decisions are made to continue attendance at The Learning Ladder.

Temporary Withdrawal

For temporary withdrawals during the period of enrolment, a written notice of temporary withdrawal stating the student’s returning date must be received no less than one month before the last day of student’s school attendance. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of 100% of the tuition deposit. Management reserves the right to admit a new student in your child’s place during your child’s absence from school. Upon return, if attendance in your child’s class is full, your child will be placed on the waiting list. Alternatively, you may pay the tuition fees during your child’s period of temporary withdrawal so as to confirm his/her seat.
